Default DMA Mode

On a Win XP machine whenever I try to use Nero to burn a dvd I get a message saying the drives are not in DMA mode. It then asks to change the drives to DMA mode but the action fails. How do I change the dvd drive to DMA mode?

Default DMA Mode

Try this,
If you go to control panel, system, hardware, device manager, double click the correct device in IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers, click on primary or secondary and you will see the settings within there to change it

Default DMA Mode

Thanks for the reply. It states Transfer mode; DMA if available and current mode PIO only. Auto detection is not highlighted.
