Listen mate, don't let GCSES put you off. If your dream is to be a very successful programmer, then go for it. I know many companys go for students with good marks, but that's not how I work. If I saw a student who had very good computer knowledge, and knew what he was on about, I'd have him for my business anyday, even if he did do badly in his GCSES.
There are many reasons why someone could get bad results in GCSES, not feeling well on the day, relative/friend died recently and so on ... But if you want to be a programmer, then go for it! Regards Jason

is that a joboffer
![]() its not that im bad at maths its that the school sucks 2 years ago my class (top) got full so they moved me and a few others into a lower class and gave us higher work but they soon got lazy and just gave us lower work meaning we fell behind. so now i am stuck in a class with a bunch of idots in the standard grades (Scotland's equivalent of gcse's) i was the only person in my class to get a 33 (c) the highest achievable grade i could get while the rest of my class for a straight fail |

C is still a good mark mate, and you are an average student.
There's nothing to worry about. Regards Jason |

Don't go with Java, you'll learn nothing useful. OO is great but learning how pointers, memory management, and sorts work is infinitely more important. C is good, as is Python.

I certainly doubt that considering most commercial programs are in C. Java is seldom used.
