Yeah those programs are usually just a scam to get you to pay money. Follow the link provided below and do what it says in the first post. It is in the virus removal section of the forums.

There isn't "one" free program that works. Try this:

Do step 1, look at your add/remove programs list and see if there is anything there you don't remember putting on your computer. That should take you less than a minute. Report back.

Oh and what AV do you use? Is it up to date? When is the last time you did a scan with it?

Those links will save your PC one day.... why not today? who ever said computer maintenance was easy and fast? Also i wouldn't worry to much about your supposed reg errors, i apparently have 1115 myself, but i have yet to experience any slow or corrupted programs, files etc. I agree with Bubba on the reg subject.

Ok. The CCleaner mentioned in step 2 is a great registry cleaner. I know it is because Evil Fantasy says it is and i trust him completely for all my virus needs lol. I just downloaded it (a newer version than the one I had was available) installed it and ran it. The whole process took me MAYBE 3 minutes. Probably closer to 2. DO that and see if it speeds you up any.

NOTE: CCleaner will will erase your cookies so sites where you are "automatically" logged on, you will have to log on again. Just hit the "remember me" button when you relog and it will be business as usual.

Do your CCleaner and report back. As you can see lol I'm helping to break down the instructions and follow the guide to get you squared away. It is easier than it seems. After this, I will help you create the logs you need and get them posted in the right forum, but then you will have to wait for one of the experts to analyze your logs and tell you what to do.

EDIT: Here's the link: http://www.ccleaner.com/download
