| I have uninstalled several pre loaded programs and deleted several folders and files on a new computer and for some reason the available disk space is actually going down. I started with 199GB free out of 225GB and after uninstalling and deleting i have 195GB free? does anybody know why this is? |

| Give it a good cleaning. Download and install CleanUp!.exe Open Cleanup! by double-clicking the icon on your desktop (or from the Start > All Programs menu). Set the program up as follows:
Note: CleanUp! deletes EVERYTHING out of your temp/temporary folders, it does not make backups. If you have any documents or programs that are saved in any Temporary Folders, please make a backup of these before running CleanUp! If you have a 64 bit Operating System do NOT run Cleanup and let me know as we will use another utility |

| You may need to defrag. A good third party program which are faster than the Windows built in defrag. Piriform Defraggler |

| If you look at all of the paperwork it probably says somewhere 225GB Max. There may be a hidden recovery partition that is taking up a considerable chunk of space. It isn't uncommon for the advertised max space to differ from what you actually have. |

| the advertised space was 250GB....actual space out of the box was 225 with 199 being free.... so is there anyway to get back any of that space? or it is permanently gone? |

To turn off System Protection for a hard disk, clear the check box next to the disk, and then click OK. Restart the computer. Turn system restore back on.
