This may be a stupid question but............
I updated my Java to the new update and ran Javara and then CC and rebooted. I went to add/remove programs (or whatever the Vista version of that is called) and saw that all the old versions of Java were still being listed. Worse, I'm on my old computer (xp) to update the Java here and I'm seeing in add/remove programs YEARS worth of Java updates. Can I uninstall them to get them off the list and then run Javara to get rid of the remnants? JavaRa obviously didn't take them off the first computer.......... |

Might be a bug in JavaRa. Do you have the newest version? v1.13

Actually as it turns out, no. Originally i used the link on the virus sticky thread and it downloaded 1.12. I hit update and got a message that it was the latest version available, you might want to check that link.
I googled JavaRa and it sent me to the JavaRa page, which did have the 1.13. I ran it (just now), d and it says it got rid of Java 6, update 5. I ran CCleaner and rebooted. When i went back to Programs and features through control panel (the new Vista name for add/delete programs) it still shows Java6 update5 there occupying 136MB. However when i try clicking it, (right click or left click) nothing happens. On the otherhand, I deleted all the old Java's from my old computer (using uninstall through add/delete programs) and then ran JavaRa (as it turns out 1.12) on it and nothing but the latest update shows up there. I guess I'll turn that machine on and do it again with the 1.13 just for poops and giggles. Strange though that I can't get that 6.5 off my list on the Vista machine......... |

Sounds like it's having a problem removing the uninstall entry. No worries...

Ok, this is strange, it's not on the HJT list, the Java 6.11 is though. I can't find it anywhere in fact EXCEPT on the Programs and Features list. Is it possible that somehow the picture is stuck on that list even though it's not there? I'm attaching a snip of the offending electrons lol. (I love the snipping tool, it is so handy, I'm glad they kept it in Win7).
![]() EDIT: Notice that it doesn't have the typical Java logo like the 6.11 does? EDIT: I used HJT 2.02 |

Install v6.5 again. http://www.filehippo.com/download_java_runtime/3868/
That will replace the missing entries. Now go to Programs and Features and uninstall it. After it's gone then run JavaRa to remove the leftovers. |
