| I have a vintage 12/2001 PC (XP Home) with VIA chipset and 266 FSB. I copied my old HDD (60Gb) to a new drive (120Gb IDE) using Ghost 10.0. Ghost said the copy was successful. I selected the copy parameters necessary to make the new drive my boot drive. When I viewed the contents of the new drive, all folders, etc. appeared to be in order. When I attempted to boot up using the new drive, I received a "Primary boot disc fail" (something to that effect) message. The old drive was completely disconnected, and I made sure I used the proper bus connector on the cable with the new drive. The jumper on the new drive was set to "Master". Where do I go from here?? |

| Try to do it again. or Use another software that does the same thing |

| Try accessing the drive under another computer, as the slave device, just to check the drive's contents. Then you can check the boot.ini file, and check to see if the configuration is correct for that drive. You may even have connected the IDE cable to the wrong channel. This can result in the computer failing the boot process |

| Happened to me once. I used recovery console to rewrite the boot record and it worked.
