Hi Everyone,

I need to do the following:

Create a table that consists of 10 places. Insert the following table entries A1, I9, R18, S19, E5, O15, and Y25, where the integers are subscripts which represent the positions of these letters in the alphabet into the table by using the hashing function
H(Ln) = n%10
And probe function
P(Ln) = max (1, n/10).

Create a windows application which at least contains a display area in a form for displaying the table.

How would I go about doing this? As far as am aware i think i need to create this program in Visual Studio unless there is an alternative way of completing this?

it totally depends on what program your going to write it in,
if your gonig to use VB 6.0 then im your man, i can kind of do .net but nt an expert

when you say VB do you mean Visual Basic? If so i dont have that software at the moment - would you recommend downloading it so i can do this algorithm?

What language are you using? This is the most important thing to post up. No-one can help you if you're speaking a different language...

If this is your Uni/School/College project I don't think we should do it for you!

However, this is so badly constructed (table of 10 entries to contain letters) that I can't believe any reputable Uni/School/College would set it.

Mike0001, I think you're right in assuming that this is an assignment from an educational facility.

Businessasusuall2008, if this IS an assignment from an educational facility, and you ask for help on the internet, it's also available to your tutors, who look for this sort of thing, and you can get into a lot of trouble for plagiarism.
