You cannot copy the program over from another PC, it doesn't work like that, software needs to be installed, not copied.

Run the setup.exe on the CD that came with the modem.

If you have done a full System Reinstall from the Compaq utility, you shouldn't be having problems like this ...... it might be worth running the Recovery utility again, as it looks like things have got corrupted somehow.
With a clean install ...... it should be running sweet, just like a new machine.

I seem to be having the same problem, except that all i did was turned off my computer, tried other RAM memories and when they didnt seem to work, i put the old ones back on and now when i try to open most of my programs a window comes up saying, "This file does not have a problem associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Folder Options control panel."

I have tried to find this assocation thingy but i dont understand what it wants me to do ..
Please help me
