Hi
I need to back up my data from laptop to an external USB drive. How can I only copy the files / folders that have changed since I last copied to save needlessly overwriting them? |

This is known as Incremental Backup.

An incremental backup backs up only those files created or changed since the last normal or incremental backup. Some versions of Windows provide this function (eg. XP Professional), but to be honest, I wouldn't trust Microsoft. Something like Acronis True Image, will allow you do do this, as well as scheduled backups and a lot more too, such as a full backup/restore of your partitions. My System: Home Build
