Instead of writing a image to my USB drive [G:\], I selected my C:\ where XP was installed, immediately I realized and stopped the process. But the XP stopped booting, so I reinstalled XP on the 2nd partition [which was my D: before] If you look at the attached image, the first NTFS 1.46GB and the second 'unformatted' partitions were together my C: before Third partition is my new XP Install. I need to know if there is a way to recover the 1st and 2nd partition together so that I can get my earlier XP ? Please note that I was using http://www.roadkil.net/program.php?... by my mistake I selected C: drive instead of G:\ Please find here the part info now:http://quickfiles.net/img/partitions.gif

If it were me I would cut my losses and reformat the entire thing.

So you reformatted the partitions. you can have a specialist wipe the drive for you. If you want to try (I am unfamiliar with this program) it should work like any other one like it, what you do is delete the partitions to the un-formatted state and select the main drive and tell it to expand partition and you get one big partition. let me know if that helped
