Hi guys, According to this website, http://www.tweakxp.com/performance_tweaks.aspx the Iconcache.db can be deleted to save space and increase performance by a little and it will be recreated upon restart. However, i have resetted my laptop several times and it has not been created.I did a search and it is still not there. Will this slow down my computer? What should i do to create another iconcache.db? Please reply as soon as possible Thanks!

make a new file and call it iconcache.db then put it where you found the origional. but seriously the performance boost and freed space will be minimal, not really worth it if you ask me. if that dosent work try and find it in your win xp setup disk.

sorry, should of said. first go to folder options in the controll pannel then the view tab then uncheck 'hide extentions for known file types' and ok, then right click on ur desktop then go to new then document then call it IconCache.db. after that you will want to go back into folder options and recheck 'hide extentions for known file types'
