I am repeatedly getting a Java pop up requesting that i download updates. I did this the first time i saw it, but it wasn't happy with that and has continued ever since ( for about two weeks now) to bombard me with this little orange pop up! I cancel every time but to no avail. What can i do please?
I have Googled trying to find a solution but without success there too. Thanks in anticipation. John |

Goto Control Panel and open Java, click on the "Update" tab and untick the box "Check for updates automatically", .... then click "Apply" and "OK" ... that should stop it.

Why don't you just update Java?
I have noticed that if you have several versions of Java you get this warning, so go to Add and Remove Programs and see if you have an old copy. Open Office needs Java. Many other programs use it too.

Download JavaRa to your Desktop and unzip it to its own folder.
Additional Note: The Java Quick Starter (JQS.exe) adds a service to improve the initial startup time of Java applets and applications. To disable the JQS service if you don't want to use it, go to Start > Control Panel > Java > Advanced > Miscellaneous and uncheck the box for Java Quick Starter. Click OK and reboot your computer. |
