Hi need some help again! I have noticed whilst using my l-top particularly on msn when i am conversing for a while the keys don't sometimes type properly or are slow. It doesnt happen often but i am concerned i have had my l-top for 8 months its a Sony vaio .

Download and rename HijackThis (HJT)

• Double-click on HJTInstall.
• Click on the Install button.
• It will automatically place HJT in C:\Program Files\TrendMicro\HijackThis\HijackThis.exe
• Upon install, HijackThis should open for you.
  • Close HijackThis and rename it.
  • Go to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis.exe
  • Right click on HijackThis.exe and select Rename
  • Type in sniper.exe and press Enter
  • Right-click on sniper.exe and select Send To > Desktop (create shortcut)
• From the desktop open Hijackthis.
• If using Windows Vista, Right-click and Run As Administrator
• Click on Do a system scan and save a log file
• Hijackthis will scan and then a log will open in notepad.
• Copy and then paste the entire contents of the log in your post.
  • Do not have Hijackthis fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.

Note: Although we have renamed Hijackthis to sniper, we will still refer to it as Hijackthis or HJT.


This will enable to have a better idea of where the problem lies.

Don't think it is malware.

You need to update your Java. Go to Start > Control Panel and open the Java control panel. Update it from there.

Run CCleaner It is suggested to download the CCleaner - Slim - No Toolbar which is the version without the Yahoo! Toolbar.

Do a disk defrag. See: The Importance of Disk Defragmentation for detailed instructions.
Microsofts built in Disk Defragment utility, does as good a job as any, but is known to be slow.

Here are free alternatives that do the same job in a much quicker time.

Windows constantly writes all sorts of information to the disk. Some needed and some not needed. CCleaner looks for the unneeded information and removes it. It won't remove anything that is needed.
