My first post so hope this is in the right place.
Had a problem with my laptop for a couple of weeks now. Can best describe it simply as follows: If I open up my home page (Mozilla browser or IE) and click onto news, invariabl, in a short time after switching between the various new stories, or, changing the sub menu to sport or other alternative section, my screen gets stuck or freezes and I have to log off or restart to connect to the site again. This happens with most sites where I flick between menu''s and not just news sites as mentioned above.
I have tried removing toolbars, flashplayer etc after advice but nothing changes, I have had the lapltop scanned for virus and have most recently uninstalled Vista which was preloaded and replaced with XP....... Any help/advicesuggestions would be much appreciated.

Get the correct graphics drivers for your laptop's graphics chip.

If that fails, try a new browser.

What make and model is your laptop?

You can find that on the box or user manual

Toshiba Satellite Pro A300D. I think I have found the info now thanks. I have run a driver update test and found the driver ATI Radeon x1250 out of date but not so far able to download update other than downloading (and paying for) driver update software.

It turned out to be a combination of 2 problems. There was a virus which I had removed but also a problem with the ADSL connection which was resolved eventually by the provider.
Thanks for responding.
