This should work, it's what I have, but I've had other Netgear stuff and it's all been supplied with this software, so Im pretty sure its Universal over all Netgear adapters.

No, unless you were using it before you reinstalled Windows, which by the sound of it, you wern't.

If you wern't, then this means you have a network card already in your laptop, unless you have knowingly bought a PCMCIA (a card sticking out the side) network card, or put in a PCI-E in the back?

And you need to therefore find out what make this is, unless you already know. If its Netgear go ahead with the link I posted, (before I saw your reply) If its not, DONT, don't worry if you have, it won't do any harm, it just won't work terribly well.

If you don't know how to find out the make, Right click My Computer, select manage, then go into Device Manager, and it should be listed.

LAN Express AS IEEE 802.11g PCI-E Adapter
Marvell Yukon 88E8 036 PCI-E Fast ethernet controllers

If it doesnt, have a look at this list to see if you can match up anything between that and your laptop.

Hi i found the right one in the list but when i click on download nothing happens is ther another link that might work for me?

The correct one in the list where u sent the link is :
LAN Express AS IEEE 802.11 PCI-E adapter but when i click on this i have to login and i have regsitered with them because i wasn't able to have access but i can't login to get the download, nothing happens. Which link are u able to get onto?

I have saved the files in compressed folder what do i need to do from here? Also i have the original cds that came with the router one says wireless USB 2.0 adapter and the other wireless router might running any of these help?

Open the folder and click "Extract All"

After that if it doesn't run automatically, open the file wherever you extracted it to and it will install.
