Hi, I'm going to explain whats happened -

I recently bought a new laptop which had 'microsoft windows xp media centre edition 2005' installed on it. I followed the instructions to backup the operating system incase I needed to rebuild it. This worked. As the hard drive was split into two 50gb partitions, I reinstalled 'microsoft windows xp media centre edition 2005' or tried to... one of the DVD's has become faulty and I cannot reinstall 'microsoft windows xp media centre edition 2005'. I do have a full product key, so I'm trying to locate either a Trial version or if someone has a copy of 'microsoft windows xp media centre edition 2005' software only, they can post me?

It's very possible Microsoft will send you a CD for cost providing you can supply them a valid CD-Key.

I haven't tried before, but if I were you I'd send them a quick email.

Failing that if you want a media centre then use this http://www.team-mediaportal.com/

It's what I use and it's free and well supported. It's very very nice for something that is free.
