Download HijackThis Here
Once you have it downloaded install/save it to it's own folder!!! This is important for it to work properly.
For example save in C:\program files\hijackthis
Once installed open the program and select Do a system scan and save logfile.
**Important DO NOT have Hijack This fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.
Save the log as a .txt file.
In the next post click Go Advanced.
Scroll down and click Manage Attachments and add the log as an attachment. It will be too long for a single post so please don't copy/paste it directly in the post

Thanks for your reply evilfantasy. I got to the point where you said in the next post, click Go Advanced. I may not be in the right spot, but I do not see a Go Advanced. What exactly do you mean by the next post. that may be my problem.

By the way welcome to TCF.

Beneath the window where you type replies it says Post Quick Reply next to that it says
Go Advanced.

If you can not find it then copy/paste the log in your next reply. It will most likely be too long for one post so you may have to add it in two posts to get it all in.

Default missing dll error message

If you are having problems with the log then lets try this.
Have you downloaded anything or un-installed anything lately?

Do you have CCleaner? If yes.
Then run CCleaner. Use the default options.
If you do not have CCleaner please install it. Here
Once CCleaner is open use the default options and click Analyze and it will show a log of what will be removed. Then click Run Cleaner to remove everything.
Then on the upper left of CCleaner select the Issues tab. Un-check everything but the Missing shared DLLs. Then click Scan For Issues and see what it brings up.
Then click Fix selected issues. will remove what is found. It will prompt you to make a backup and for the first run I would suggest doing so.
Let me know if you need help.

I did as you suggested evilfantasy, and it eliminated one issue. However that issue did not stop the error message. do you know of any other software programs that might correct this. Thanks so much for your help.

Open HijackThis and select Do a system scan only.
Once it has ran put a check mark next to these entries.

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {109E130D-9AEF-49BF-9A7E-6DF80795E68A} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\byxyy.dll (file missing)

Close all windows including this one before clicking Fix Checked.
Restart and post a new HJT log please there are some other issues to address.
Also have you had any problems with spy-ware that you are aware of?
