Honestly, I don't know what this is. I took various screen shots and put them in the same picture.
![]() Seems harmless but I freeze my monitor blacks out and I can't have any games running or else it will completely freeze my computer to the point where I have to restart it. Since I pursue a career in animation, this is a big deal. An idea of what this is will greatly help. Please and thank you. |

Looks like the video card is going out on you.
Time for a new one most likely. |

Thank you. I'll be sure to look at the video card. If it's truly the problem I'm making a trip to the store.

Either that or the monitor itself is going.

Well I happen to have extra monitors lying around, I could check on that.

It's not the monitor.

Well, it can't be the monitor, since otherwise we couldn't see the lines.

It's definately the GFX card. Have you tried installing new drivers? Check if the card has bulging capacitors (top should be flat) or if they are oozing. Is the fan still spinning at proper speeds? My System: Toshiba Satellite A200-28P

The most recent things I've done was I accidentally put my paint program in full screen. Then the lines showed up. The fan seems to be at proper speed and nothing is bulging.
