Im sure heaps of people are having the same problem, its been downloading with heaps of programs ive been recently installing, one i can remember was FTPCute, it was a "I accept these terms, and I want to install Ask toolbar" or something along those lines, I heard Sun is also installing some toolbar(I think yahoo but not sure) along with their java updates, anyway

Ive removed these toolbar program maybe over a dozen times, is there a way to permanently block them?

Thanks

Just read the T's and C's when installing stuff and if it says "Install XYZ toolbar" don't accept them, it's a cheap way to get people to install it then they accept the T's and C's for the program they're installing.

the problem there is, I want those programs, and with yahoo toolbar, Sun is installing it along with the java update, no need to accept the ToS there lol

Im after a way to block these programs, not ways to avoid them.

Go find a firewall and make the Ask or whichever toolbars into bad programs and problem solved I suppose

You can opt-out by unchecking the option to install the extra software. And that goes for all software. Installers hall of shame
