| Hi, I got a new computer a few weeks ago and it came with Nero 7 Essentials. It had a registered OEM key and it said expiry date: never. But when I open Nero Vision, it says I only have a 30 day trial for their MPEG-2 coding or something. Anything where Nero has to encode/decode, I only have a 30 day trial. But now the trial is over, and it won't let me use it. It keeps on prompting me to buy the full version. Attached some images of what it looks like. |

| Have you tried emailing Nero? That would probably resolve this quickly.

| That is possibly right, you have to upgrade to the full edition.

But upgrading means buying. I don't have to money to buy it right now. They still haven't replied. How long does it take them? |

| The Nero encoder is £15.99, downloadable from their site.

| Ok I will try that, because they just replied and said, 'The CD/DVD recorder manufacturers or computer distributors (who bundle Nero with their products) decide which Nero applications will be included in the OEM/Essentials version. This decision is not made by Nero itself. The end result is a 'limited' OEM/Essentials version of Nero which does not include all the features of the full retail version.' Ah well, I guess it's back to searching for freeware. Thanks for the help guys. Edit: I found free MPEG2 codec. http://www.free-codecs.com/stinky_mp...c_download.htm I installed it. Except I can't find how to set the output and input to Nero. Can anyone tell me how? Please? ![]() Last edited by Coolyxxx : 18-07-2008 at 12:07 AM. Reason: Found MPEG2 codec. |

| I think you will need to encode to MPEG2 and then add those files to NeroVision. Then you set NV to not reencode the video, which is quicker anyway.
