The network connections icon is not accessible. I have XP Pro and when I access my Control Panel I have a icon that says it is Network Connections but when i click on it or try to open it w/right click nothing happens. How can I recover this funtcion?

As far as I know I am set up as the Administrator but I will check again. When I go to the control panel page instead of seeing the icon for the network connections (globe with a plug) I see the same type of icon that appears after you have deleted a program...a default icon. I don't believe I ever deleted network connections. I connect to internet via DSL.

Is your computer part of a domain at work or something. That can sometimes prevent access to some functions.

Otherwise you may have to do a reinstall.

You could try making a new user account and seeing if it works with that.
