You can get software the will clone your harddrive to a zip type file.

That said any decent PC seller will give you the OS on CD or recovery CDs/Partition.

Do you know of any software that will clone the OS to a Zip file.
After it's zipped how do you get it to reload it's self.

New one has Vista and old one has xp Pro Sp3 and I thought I was a sticky where you can add them both on??

If you were not provided with install discs or recovery discs by the manufacturer, then the factory default OS installation + software loadout will be in a separate recovery partition.

You'll need to create your own recovery disks using this partition. Refer to the manual for details, because the name of the preinstalled application used for this varies from manufacturer to manufacturer.

As for recovering, you'll need to boot into recovery console (usually F12) and select the system recovery option. It will ask for the recovery DVDs then.
