News: Google Chrome OS Announcement Followed by Release of Alpha/Beta.

Google held a press conference about the OS, due for release sometime in 2010.

According to Engadget, it seemed like it was a long way off release, even for early adopters, and beta testers.

However the following day (last Friday) they announced that it could be run on VM, and later changed that page to include a tutorial and getting it set up.

As of about Monday (?) it can be run natively of a USB drive.

I had tried downloading chrome before ..but it did not work..so do you think its compatible with dual core Asus deskstop?

Yes, it should work fine with just about any build.

Did you follow the steps on Hexxeh's site? It's pretty simple and you shouldn't have any issues with getting it to work.
