Hi i have an old Compaq presario and it worked great up until now i use it for small things like documents and images more like a storage, and recently it has been running really slow i have kaspersky 2009 internet security and avg 7.5 anti spyware. now it found some viruses but kaspersky told me that it has been cleaned out, so any suggestions on how i can find the root of this problem and fix it?

what can i do to find out the cause of my comp slowing down? i used to work great and now it has huge lag spikes

How long have you been using the current Windows installation on it for? If it has been a long time since the last reinstall it may be time for another.
Windows normally gets slow after about 2 - 3 years, at which time a format and complete reinstall speeds things up no end.
