im selling my pc and i need a program do delite my persanal info as just deliting them you can still recover the info. eney1 no a good free softwere i can download?

i know there was a program floating around windows 98, it was just like the recycle bin, but it was a permanent delete.

as my friend said at the time 'the FBI couldn't even find my files' and that made me feeling, nor could he now hes deleting them

anywhooo - i will surf for ya pal as im sure theres a free program that permanently deletes

DBAN < wipes the whole disk.

i just downloaded a few programs to as they say wipe destroy private data ect and after doing a few wipes and destroys iv then downloaded a program to see if they can b round..i wos surprised to find that the odd picture and private info wos left undestroyed but most had been destroyd perfectly as in like pictures thoused diffrent culoured dots..

DBAN looks good:P could somone tell me how to use this? do i download it to floppy then get pc to boot from floppy with the disk in? sorry but i couldent find that info on the website :)

You can run Dban from a floppy or a CD. http://dban.sourceforge.net/download/readme.txt

Remember, you will have no operating system when you are done.

yerr i do need my OS system but i am goin to make that Dban disk as it mite com in handy some time thanks for evryones feedback :)
