Default Photoshop CS

I've been an avid fan of Paint Shop Pro for the majority of my graphic requirements which are admittedly fairly limited.

However, I've got the chance to get PS at a reasonable price and was wondering if it was really worth it? I'm not a graphics guru by any stretch, but I am starting to do more and more design work, themes in particular.

Any compelling reasons to make the change or would I be better off sticking to what I know best?

Personally, I do not see any point of getting it. I am running Photoshop 7, and I don't think that there is any major differences between the two.
My friend who has CS said it wasn't really worth the money to upgrade it.

And by the way, what does CS stand for?

CS 2 can edit HDR photos and thats all I know about the difference between Photoshop CS and CS 2. Photoshop has far more photo editing tools than any other. For those wanting a career in graphic design or movies it's what you have to be an expert on. For alot of graphic designwork like logo design and leaflets Adobe Illustrator is better but can't edit photos with it or paint. Most of the differences between Photoshop versions will be in the photo editing features like colour editing HDR compositing healing tools and compatibility with new file types and operating systems.
