dy i didnt knew exactly where to post this problem, so i posted it here

anyways my problem is following:

I got a vista 64mbit, and it has worked fine for like half a year then suddenly yesterday it started acting wierd, so i thought that it might be a good time to update my virus program. I had norton antivirus, which had expired along time ago. I know stupid. Anyways i download the installation files to avast and plug out my internet, removes norton along with some other games i didnt played anymore from the computer useing the add/remove program feature. I removed Norton rebooted and installed avast, so i thought that everything was in order. There was just one problem: When i started my computer i said i was connected to local and internet networks, but the problem is that i couldnt use my internet. It wouldnt connect to anyhting including mozilla firefox, wow, d2, skype, msn and so on.
And we got another computer in our house which still works perfectly, so i thought maybe its avast blocking internet or something since i am useing vista, so i reverse the process, download norton install files from another comp, plug out, remove avast install norton, which btw is updated got a new trial version. And still same result, it tells me i got internet connection but i cant "use" it.

I have also tried the following things:

Turning off firewall
Booting computer in errorsafe condition, with network
Useing different types of cables

and remember that the other comp in my house got a working internet..

and please no "just reformat bla bla bla" or "vista sucks wap wap wap" since i know that, but i dont want to reformat or change to xp

btw i tried to run MSN errorfinding, it told me that my problem was: DNS and Key Ports
