hi ... at school i used visual basic 6 to make programs (if thats what they are called in vb)
and i quite enjoyed it ... and was wondering is there any other programming applications that allow me to make programs .... wow that confusing
i have visual basic 6 atm and i am currently downloading the new 2008 beta (legally!!!)

Visual basic is programming language. You could try learning JavaScript

you have a wealth of choices with VS2008 by itself; c#, vb.net or j# so take your pick. I'd play with asp.net and then a language of your choice to write the 'backend'; SQL express is also free; so play with that too. You could dip into java; get the eclipse ide its really good also free; there are so many choices.

My opinion is that Ruby will be big soon(although we've been saying that for years) and is a fun language to learn and use.

ok i didnt get the above post ..... but what application allows me to create programs in java script?
also i downloaded vb2008 beta from the website but it is a .img file?? ..... i hope i didnt just download a 4 gig jpeg :P
