Hi, I installed an old MS DoS game called Descent on my Windows XP PC.

The game works fine except everything is speeded up.

Everything moves really fast, so the game is impossible to play what becuase I don't know what to shoot at.

Is there any way to get this game running at normal speed on XP?

Thanks

Hi, I tried running the program in compatibility of Windows95 and it was still insanely fast, just as before.

A point to note is I didnt restart my PC in the time period between when I changed the compatibility and when I tried playing the game.

Should I have restarted the PC before I tried playing the game? Would this have made a difference and if not is there anything else I can do?

Thanks

There is an options menu and a setup program. The options menu doesnt have any relevant stuff and the setup program is all about sounds.

I could send you the game if you wanted and you could try it, it is very small.

Another thing that you could try is ...... run a resource hungry app, whilst playing the game.

Something like a video conversion program, might just slow your machine down enough.
