I want to totally remove Nero and all its componants - it's been a pain in the you know where for me - and - I need to remove Real Player and all it's "stuff". I just tried to do that in 'add/remove' programs and I got a message saying it could not totally remove Real Player.

This computer was not cheap (PC) and I thought I could at least burn a cd - not! I burnt some dvd's but even that was not really straight forward.

I think I will go with a Mac next time.

I don't really want to format my hard drives - done that 2 times with this one already.

I have a ADM athlon 64x2 dual core processor 4600+ 2.41ghz clock speed with 1gb ram in an msi k9n platinum board with 2 winfast px7950 graphics cards. I know it's not the best, but I've had nothing but trouble with this - I don't game - I just mainly bought it to transferr my vhs to dvd. Now that that's done I feel like throwing this p.o.c. over a cliff just to see it explode! That would be nice !!

Anyway - back to reality -
This is my main question:
Is there a safe and easy way to get rid of all my cd write programs etc., and not have to format my drives (I have 2x320gb) so that I can go to Costco tomorrow (or whatever) and buy a really gooooood program (that you great computer people will recommend for me to buy) so that I can actually burn my music cd's with and it won't be "rocket science' to do that??

Try posting in the correct forum, not doing so creates a huge workload for the staff.

you know, if you use an OEM for XP there is a way to only reformat system files and that way you can keep all your personal stuff and still fix problems.

Sorry if I'm not clued into the world of pc help and "proper" computer edicate.

I just wanted to vent a little and see if someone out there had some real suggestions.

I'll be careful in the future and read through the areas where to post.

My appologies.

Happy holidays,
