Ah, ok, and I got the VM working, but the OS I was going to try doesn't work. But that's because it's a OEM version of vista home premium, but I think it's only meant to be used to upgrade the OS of the machine it came with. Thought it was worth a try though.

Yea, but I could install XP on it, because I have a full license for that (what i'm using at the mo) but I wanted to try vista, but it seems like I can't, well I could download a thing for vista, but it only lasts for 30 days (I looked) and that amount of time I don't think is worth it.

For anyone wanting to test Windows 7, Virtual PC is a great way to do it.
Make sure you have the latest version of Virtual PC (6.0.192) or you will get a BSOD when you install Virtual Machine Additions.
