Default Hello Computer Forums

Hi, I'm Jonathon, 17 years old - live in the UK.

Have knowledge and experience in the following:
  1. DOS (a bit)
  2. Windows 95, 98, 2000, XP, Vista
  3. Networking (I love networking)
  4. Web Design
  5. Hardware, building computers.
I have a network of 6 desktops and 3 laptops in my house which all run either Win2k, XP or Vista and are on a Windows 2003 Server domain. These include standard desktops to entertainment pc's and CCTV surveilance. Currently want to set up a VPN which i'm not too sure about. That's a ? for another section.

Everything I have learnt is from experience and just experimenting and 'playing' with software, hardware and operating systems.

I hope I can give some valuable advice to people who are in need of it anytime.

Jon

Welcome to the forums!

In my opinion the best way to learn is to get your hands dirty.

Dave, it is not forum etiquette to hijack someone else's thread and ask for help.

Start your own thread and if anyone wants to help they will.

I thought that was obvious.

The original poster said they have learnt simply by messing about and getting stuck into any problems rather than a course or a class.

I was just saying that I think a practical approach works better for learning in most cases.
