Having as many posts as I do here, I suppose I'd best introduce myself.

I'm Carbon, I'm from the U.S. (specifically Washington state), I have a bachelor's degree in international studies, I'm bilingual (also speak Japanese), am learning the ukulele, and I run a website that is usually down for maintenance because I'm too lazy to make it W3C compliant.

I fix things, I also occasionally break things, as do we all. My fix to break ratio is, I'd estimate, around 7:1 which is pretty good, I suppose. It is getting better, but that's more of an issue of not having anything to work on than my skills improving. I managed to almost wreck my entire system on a OCZ PSU which had a capacitor blew up without me noticing for a week, for example. I thought it was the light bulb going out or something and then wondered why I couldn't boot up my system.

I learned a lot about spyware stuff over the course of three years, and I learned almost everything I know about hardware in the last half a year or so. I tend to specialize in the latter, as it's much easier to keep track of and doesn't require parsing two page long HijackThis logs.

I also have a few years of experience doing level designing on the Radiant platform (from Q3 to Call of Duty 4), and I work as a lead coder/scripter on a modification called Dawn of Victory, itself for a upcoming RTS title called Sins of a Solar Empire. I get paid for none of this.

I hope I can help as many people as possible. As it says in my sig, if you have a hardware related problem, specifically anything that doesn't require debugging Windows' faults (I'd much rather talk about models of motherboards than telling you to reinstall your router drivers and flush your DNS), let me know via PM if I don't answer it. I'm currently writing up a centralized "what-to-buy-this-month" hardware guide, as well.
