Hi There!!

I am new to this website obviously!! and I am a novice when it comes to computers, which is why I looked on this website to hopefully gain some info. I want to create a web site but do not have a clue about how to do it.

Can you buy software to create a web site?? and what is a web host? Do you need both?

Many thanks to anyone who can give me any good advice.

The host is where u copy the web pages to so people can see them. An easy place to start is one of the free services, which will do most of this for you. Try a Google search for

free web hosting

and choose. You should be able to design simple pages online. For more complicated stuff it is better to code direct in HTML (a simple text-based language) as commercial packages tend to stuff all sorts of meaningless rubbish into pages they make. (eg, a rather expensive offering for Macs)

Oh, and welcome!

Closed as you lot clearly don't understand the concept of an introduction forum.
