Ok well, if you are adding the $projecthp to a template in /forums/ (sounds like you are) then projecthp.php needs to be in that folder too.

The httpbl.php needs to be in the exact location of where it is specified in projecthp.php.

So <?php require('/var/www/vhosts/domain.com/httpdocs/httpbl.php'); ?> would mean in the root for example.

Bingo! That did the trick. I added a copy of the projecthp.php to the forums directory, re activated the plugin and its working. I did the edit of the IP to test it as well and it returns a white page with a parse error at the top, woohoo.

Now so long as I don't get any collateral damage from this life should be good. :)

Thanks a million for the script and the help with it. I will be sure to share this with my friends who run vB.

No problem, you're welcome, I'm still running it and it really seems to have helped. There are the odd bot that gets through but overall it catches most stuff.

Howdy again.
I am noticing that the script is significantly slowing down my site. Yours seems to be doing ok. Are you running the same version of the script that is posted here? There are no settings per-se for the script correct?

Correct, it's fine here, no slow down. How can you be sure it is the script?

Thanks for the reply.
When the script is active pages load very slowly. As soon as I disable the script its really fast. Not sure if its a communication thing with the honeypot db or what.

Shared hosting is always going to be slow, i guess even a small script like this could have an impact. We run on a 2x Quad Core Xeon as a guide...
