Hi there,

I am new to web design: I want to make a website for myself, I am just wondering what the best way to go about it is.

It is possible to make a fancy website using html/css/etc. (as i have no html experience but have some computer programming experience) or am i better off buying a template online? Or is it possible to do something in between, where I can get the code for flashy stuff to put on a basic static background template?

My basic question is: Is it worth learning any html when making a website (bearing in mind i have a lot of time in my hand and not alot of money!!!)?

Would appreicate some opinions!

Just get wordpress and a free theme.

It's hands down the easiest way to get a simple website and it's free.

I did this in a matter of minutes. http://www.hybrid-computers.biz/

Wordpress is the backend and is all coded for you, the themes can just be enabled over the top and also require no coding experience.

Its not really necessary to learn HTML with so many editors out there, such as microsoft frontpage, dreamweaver and theres heaps more but those are the two ive used, I perfer frontpage its really simple and easy to get started with if you wonna learn a little html while your actually seeing what your doing
