i want to build a basic website that people can register to and have there own profile page and are able to add there own info/pictures and so on.

and maybe in the future a live chat room

i have already purchased my url address..

i no i need to create a data base so people can register with a password to my website but am unsure on how to do this.. could anyone give me any tips or advice?

the server and company im suing is called Cpanel..

Even something like Joomla/Drupal can do this, as far as I know.

Yeah, true, it can. Drupal or even wordpress can be skinned to do almost anything.

There are lot of CMS u can use , Best of them i think are Joomla , Drupal , Wordpress , phpBB, silverstripe , mambo ...

if u need any help to get them , just tell me

My advice: be original and build your own pages and scripts (if you are a good programmer)!
