Have loaded CentOS 5.3 (x86_64) onto a Supermicro C2SBC-Q (Intel) machine, software RAID1 with three SATA WD drives. Updated all with YUM. FAST mutha. But the DVD optical IDE drive is still unrecognised by the O/S. I have tried a SATA optical drive, no difference. First thought was an errant BIOS setting but now all that seems sorted.

HAL is running, autofs too. This hasn't occurred with the 32-bit installs so it has to be an issue with the 64 kernel. :4-dontkno

Any enlightenment welcome. Any info needed will be forthcoming on request.
