I guess I really never understood the connections. According to the numbers, Comcast Cable gets upto 6Mb/sec, SBC DSL gets upto 3Mb/sec, Verizon FiOS gets up to 15Mb/sec but a T1 is supposed to be faster than all of them(I think its 30Mb/s). So how is it that (I have a T1 at work, DSL at home, Used to have Cable, and parents have FiOS) my home connection (DSL) is faster than my work connection (T1) but they say DSL is faster than Cable But slower than a T1. Well from my experiences, FiOS cant be beaten at the price that its sold at and cable comes in second, followed by DSL then T1 which is the most expensive. I just dont get it.

Maybe the area you live in, with DSL they might say it goes up 6MB per second, but you might not be able to get that high, depends if your line can do that. With a cable connection your sharing with others around, so it's quite possible you get higher speeds at times, and slower at other times. Probably at night you will a faster connection then in the day. And if it's winter, and their is a big storm, you might not be able to get on at all if you have a cable connection.

I'm in the UK so cant really comment, altho' Cable in my area is much faster than DSL as DSL is only as good as the phone line connecting it.
