Default Favourite way of communicating online?

I just wandered what was peoples favorite way of communicating on the net? I think I might make it a poll.

My personal favorite is forum's, I love using them I sometimes get fed up with IM because I always get people adding me who I don't know or like.

If you would like to add a option to the poll, let me know and I will add it.

I'm with you on IM. I wasn't thrilled when gm added that chat/IM feature because if people approach me through it I have to be rude and ignore them.

I am a big fan of forums, I run one and am a regular on about a dozen others. They change quickly but at the same time you don't have to rush to contribute and you don't get "left out" of things. They can do everything from rapid joking threads to serious questions and calls for help.

If course I still do a fair amount of email as well, that mpre for writing to family, or work--forums are either too open or too informal for that sort of stuff IMHO

I'm all for IM's. It’s a good way to talk with real friends, internet friends and even clients. The block feature on many of them comes in very handy at times!

I love forums too, but I don't really think it is a way of communication - more of discussion. I happen to run one as well and like glyphon I am a member of quite a few!

However, I'm not really a 'blog person'. I do not have one and don't read any - I think I just find them boring!

I prefer MSN. I have used AIM from time to time but never really got used to it. Over here in Switzerland, MSN is the most popular IM.
IMing is the best real-time way to chat, and some programs have voice messaging as well as web-cam.

Forums would probably be my second means of comunicating, although I lots of the time, the forum is idle and I have to wait over a day for a good reply.
