| I get a lot of questions on people starting out on SEO as to what is the dreaded Google "sandbox." Well to make a long story short, the sandox is what Google puts all new site into to assure that they know how to play properly. Usualy a new site will stay in the sandbox for 6 to 12 months depending on it's subject matter and how well it has proved that it can play properly. It's basicaly there way to prevent the wham, bam, thank you maam sites from having any success. |

| I use the word play, to say that Google wants to take away the sites that are out there to make a quick buck and provide little benefit to users, only to themselves. Some of the sites that it tries to discourage through this sandbox are: Google Adsense sites that have no unique content, scrapper sites, affiliate site and a few others. Unfortunately, for Google to help avoid this run and gun sites it puts everybody into the Sandbox until it feels you earned it... the better your site is, the quicker it will come out of the sandbox.... and some of the "bad" sites sometimes make it out of the sandbox too, they just have to wait longer. |
