How do I make a contact us button on my website

How do I make it so that when people click the contact us button on my website it opens their default email client? Any help would be great thanks.

Note that it's bad practice to have a straight mailto link. It's similar to if you had a PDF file link without disclosing it's a PDF. It should be clearly disclosed as one on a completely separate page, no link should be a mailto: on your site's navbar.

I myself use a free contact form which is free to use and is configurable. This way your email address is not viewable and open to spambots.

Easy to use - Just copy & paste the generated code and insert it within the html on the page you wish to place your contact details

You use mailto just like a hyperlink.

i.e mailto:[email address]

But remember, if you do this the email account you have just posted the address of on the internet will eventually be bombarded with spam.
