I think they where talking about using google adwors correctly to make profit of it. For example using adwords to send people to your interesting website which is making money by selling products, using affiliate programs or even using contextual advertising like Google adsense !

Isn't that the point of advertising...to make money? You pay to have your advertisement shown on Google and in turn, people click on the link and come to your site and possibly purchase your products.
