Why type of site are you making.

Wordpress can pretty much do anything and requires very little coding as it's all there to start with.

Wordpress software will allow you to login and others too. You can post articles and others can login and comment on them.

It is far easier than coding something from scratch and it will look far more professional.

Wordpress is just the script, you can apply 1000's of different skins to it too.

So changing the design after install is very quick and easy.

You need to upload the files to your host and setup the mysql database, you could always get it done by wordpress if you don't know what you are doing. The even offer hosting.
