I was just going to post a bit of information about page ranks, I will do it here.
Page Rank (Google) is your rank for your website which you are given. Page rank is not only decided by the quantity of your backlinks but the quality of your backlinks as well. The best is 10 (Only Google has 10) If you wish to know your PR, then contact me and I will check it for you :) The formula is PR(A) = (1-d) + d(PR(t1)/C(t1) + ... + PR(tn)/C(tn)) Or simpler as a page's PageRank = 0.15 + 0.85 * (a "share" of the PageRank of every page that links to it) Hope this helped, Jason |

You do need to get a large quantity of links, and make sure you get them from websites that already have a page rank (Preferably higher). Supposing you were in Google then you would get a good little page rank share wouldn't you

Just don't forget that Page Rank isn't everything as many people would have you believe (Particularly SEO "experts"). Though a good page rank indicates good links and traffic, plenty of fantastic sites out there have a much lower PR than you might expect due to the fact it is updated periodically.
It can be frustrating waiting for the updates as you don't really know how well backlink campaigns and so forth are going until you get some statistics and figures in, but that's just the way it works. As long as you update content frequently, get good quality backlinks and advertise in reputable places, you're bound to do well and get a good page rank to boot. After all, a blog of mine hit PR4 after only a few weeks of regular updates and I did nothing in the way of SEO or advertising - just goes to show that content really is king I guess. |

Thanks LCD I will keep that in mind, Updating content etc is one of the keys! Yeah people make such a big fuss about PR, but I haven't had one yet well anything above 0 so I don't know what I am missing yet. :)

Feels good and helps you sell links, but I'm more bothered about who's coming in and who's making purchases than anything else.
If you have content sites and want to advertise though, a good PR of say 3 or 4 and above will help you get the best possible price when it comes to text links and ad slots. |

You can also track your page rank by installing the Google internet toolbar. One of it's features (amoung many) is that it shows you the PR for every page that you visit.
A nice feature in that you can easily see your PR and the PR of your competition just by visiting your url. |

Although I like the idea of the Google Toolbar, it doesn't do enough for me to warrant it.
I'm trying to remember the little application I installed that integrated a small PR and Alexa ranking tool into FireFox - much better looking, less intrusive and does exactly what I want without any extras. |

I have heard many people talking about the google toolbar and it's page rank thing, but does it actually work?
I haven't used it personally as I hate all toolbars full stop. |
