Default Placement problems with index.html.

Hi,

I am currently trying to load my website .co.uk on to uk2net sever, but it’s seems I am having a few problems and the help service seems slightly poor and its giving me some more gray hairs. I am slighty regretting buying from uk2net but I would like to make the most of the situ.

Background info is that I have completed a simple 5 page css menu website using dreamweaver mx on a vista pc. I have followed the server instruction in getting started but not having much luck at all. I tried to load my site via FTP and entered all the information required as needed, but that never worked , with the problems that have occurred, I loaded each page and image etc via the file manager. This seemed to work and I have placed them in public html, was this right place?
Where do I put my website (index.html) to be seen on www?

Any suggestions would be really appreciated as I have gained a few more gray hairs over this one. Is there a step by step guide to getting the site on line etc
The file folder looks like this; ( each folder has files in)
/public_html
Access-logs
Etc
Home
Index.html
Mail
Public ftp
Public_html
Ruby
Tmp
www
Many thanks, any suggestions guides or help will be very apperciated

Move index.html to /public_html/ this is the part of the server where all the HTML files are public. Then it should show up when you access it in a browser (at your domain).

'Arial','sans-serif']Hi, thank you very much for help and info its really appreciated. It looks though I’m having a bit of a bad time with this for some reason. I uploaded my files and images again to the public html , once loaded I returned to the folder and to my stupidity thought it worked lol its never that easy. Going into the file manager I found to my surprise more folders within, its seems this has become of a little challenge lol for me now. My files are placed in a folder index.html but this hasn’t worked either. Anyway the file folders look like this. Any suggestions would be appreciated, it never use to his hard to put a website on line.

No, you don't make another folder. The index.html FILE needs to be in public_html folder itself, with your images as well.

Upload all your files in public_html using File Manager / FTP software ... inlcuding your index.html file.

One more request, please try to avoid html coding in your post ... forums donot allow html coding and as result you will end up with so much junk in your posting.
