There will be something in your router's config pages about DMZ and/or port forwarding. You will need to either put your machine in the DMZ or forward port 80 to your machine.

Beware! You make your machine visible to hackers!

Ah, well there may be problems then.

Unless your ISP has given you a fixed IP address, you will not be able to do that.

If you do have a fixed address (which is visible on the status page of your router) you go back to wherever you registered your domain name and set it up to redirect to your IP address.

You can stick it in httpd.conf too but not sure if that achieves anything!

It will be in your broadband contract.

you can create a static IP for port forwading for free. it shows you here. just choose your rooter and it tells you.

With respect, I don't think the author of that article has got the idea of dynamic IP addresses! If my router is assigned address 1.2.3.4 by MyISP and then MyISP assigns the same to yours, and then I make 1.2.3.4 static, we will both have the same IP address, a recipe for chaos. (Not that MyISP would actually approve my static IP anyway unless I paid for it!)

You may get away with it for a while, but sooner or later it will go wrong.

However, the Apache server on the local LAN should be given a static IP so that its port 80 can be forwarded.
