I know they conflict, when it does you just re-assign a different static IP, I use it for my port forwarding on various programmes.

EDIT

I have been using the same static IP since I set it up 6 months ago and so far no conflict has occured.

Thanks for all the advice.
Ive checked out this free static ip and it realy dosent convince me my isp will provide me with one at hardly no extra cost to any bills im paying already.

fair enough, that is easily the best way to do it. But I was just to lazy to ring my ISP. Lol.

Hi There,

I'm not sure why you are interested to use your machine as a host. Rather buy a hosting package from any hosting company and upload your files to that hosting account, point your domain and that's it .... you are done!

Buying a static ip is more expensive, you have to keep your computer running 24X7, make it hacker proof .... etc.

Trust me ... go for my advice.

Best and cheapest hosting company is www.godaddy.com

Namely because i want to learn all there is about hostin web sites web building, scripting etc been learning for the past 6 months and finding it fasinating.
Starting a buisness aswell and want complete controll over everything (im like that)
i will eventulay buy a dedicated server but i want to start small and progress as i learn (im in it for the long hall).
Using windows at the mo but im learning about linux and will soon be moving over when the time is right.

I'll advice you to learn one by one ... don't just try to learn everything ... you'll mass up everything.

i agree, html came first then javascript now php next will be hosting more indepth just skimed it realy wanted to know what i was letting myself in for (LOTS of hardwork)
but there are so many resorces out there (at a cost) but this is my calling.

Im currently using a hosting provider so hosting isnt something i need to rush into.

thanks for the advice much appreciated nice to know there are people willing to help others still.
