Default Recycle Bin forum board

I would like to make a recycle bin forum board for my forum but i want to know some details on how to accomplish that so it can be very effective for the staff and the members.
Details like should it be viewable to regular members and how it would be organized and many others.
These more like a suggestion request but please give some attention.

Thanks in advance

Default Recycle Bin forum board

vBulletin already has a recycle bin.

It's called soft delete and based on your settings deleted posts can still be seen, read and reinstated depending on the user group settings.

It's conventional to use the recycle bin to take threads off the home page, to leave them viewable to the membership, to act as an unspoken warning from the moderators not to continue the thread and to be one step short of soft deleting it. All that's built into vBulletin and quite likely it's how other platforms can be worked too.

SMF uses the term "recycle bin" the way we've used the term "soft delete". There's no reason why you shouldn't set a single forum to not appear on the home page, to be labelled "really naff threads" and to be used as we've suggested so that the posts remain available to the members. Just make sure the one forum is set to reject robots and it's identical.
