| Hey Casper,Proper SEO first require adequate keyword research. What search terms are people using when they look for sites like yours? Then the key is to try and get a domain name rich with those keywords. If I had a website that sold shoes, www.shoestore.com would put me higher up in the ranks than www.bobskicks.com (because more people search for "shoe store" than "Bob's kicks." Once that is done, you should try to optimize your content on the website by using keyword-rich phrases whenever possible. Also, getting linked to from other sites will also boost your search-engine placement, so look into link exchanges. If you want to learn more. | Hi, Am a professional SEO from India........ I have successfully brought around 40 websites on TOP......... My Success Mantra It’s simple, Use your "Common Sense" for Google Ranking.......... Be in the shoes of Google bot. Imagine you are a Google Bot! And your Seo strategy will automatically froth up…………. You have to run your eyes through out your website and charge up you human brain(Master of Computers)! Think what the mystical robot might have looked for in your website to give it a boost in rankings……. Remember SEO is all about the Common Sense……….its about simple things you apply to your website smartly………no foul plays Juss apply that common sense to your website and you will be on top ten…………………………… Things Google Bot looks in a website: 1) Is it theme based, is it an authority website in its field… 2) The title tags relate to the core theme of the website 3) Is it having enough support (backlinks) of prominent players catering in the same field 4) Is it ever evolving : changing with times with frequent updates.. 5) If your website is made for visitors and serves the needs of your visitors well…..then it will automatically upscale the rankings….. 6) Google bot loves informative website…with lot of content….. 7) Is your website Informative(useful article), Intractive(Talks directly with visitors) and Attractive….. That’s it, it’s as simple as i have mentioned above…………… SEO is game of commonsense and please stray away from tricky stuff….. Best of Luck Last edited by anindianspice : 17th Apr 2007 at 11:53 PM. |

It's one of the general ways to function as a researcher. Put yourself in the shoes of someone experiencing what you are researching.

make sure you have something to say - have loads of relevent content on your site, sort out your metatags and do a site map - it's the offsite optimisation that erally really counts - you need top quality relevent links to you site, and also haveing lots and lots of PATIENCE helps - it's not an overnight thing - be prepared to wait a few months for results - yeah you will see some instant rewards - but it takes along itme for the real quality to filter through,...............

A major point I seem to be making everywhere is not to get hung up on SEO. Content and site purpose are your main gears that drive traffic to return.

What is your market? What is your niche? Is the niche within a larger niche? SEO is fine it you just wan to build hit stats, but it you need quality for sales, your niche and potential customer will be your first concern, IMHO. That will affect your site design as well, which might not help you in general SEO Last edited by SageMother : 2nd Jun 2007 at 10:55 AM.
